Schedule


  • Tests will be Intermediate Horse Trials Test HI2 (2006) and BD Novice 25.
  • HI2 on Saturday February 27th and Novice 25 on Sunday February 28th.
  • The competition will be for Teams of 4, with the best 3 scores to count.
  • Tests will comprise one HI2 and one Novice with two riders from each team riding the same test.
  • Awards at Area will be to first six teams and first six individuals in each test [treated as individual arenas].
  • There will be one team to qualify from each area.
  • There will be no individuals to qualify.

All qualifying classes must be entered on the correct forms and full preliminary entries must have been made by each club to the BRC Head Office by Friday February 5th 2010.

  • Entries for qualifying classes to the organiser by Friday February 12th 2010.
  • Please enclose a large [A4] SAE. Large envelope 2nd class stamp.
  • Entries please on the official entry forms received from Stoneleigh, together with the correct entry fees payable to FDRC [Flint and Denbigh Riding Club] to the organiser [address above].
  • Times available on the Area 20 website on Thursday February 25th 2010 and emailed to your chef d'equip.


Directions to Maelor EC


FROM THE NORTH

M56 to Junction 15, then M53 South, this runs into the A55 North Wales.
Follow the dual carriageway and then turn left at the A483 for Wrexham.
Follow A483 for 3 miles until the slip road signed 'Rossett'; at the end of the slip road turn right signed 'Llay'.
2 miles to the 'Crown' pub traffic lights, turn right signed Hope.
After 1.5 miles you will see us on the right hand side.

FROM THE WEST

Via the A55 Expressway, exit at the A550 for Wrexham and follow this for 4.5 miles to the village of Hope.
Follow the B5373 for 'Llay', round the first bend and The Equestrian Centre will be seen on the left hand side.

FROM THE EAST

Through Nantwich follow the A534 to Holt, on to Rossett and then on to Llay.
At the 'Crown' pub traffic lights, turn right signed Hope.
After 1.5 miles you will see us on the right hand side.

FROM THE SOUTH

M6 to Junction 10A then follow the M54 to Junction 3.
Turn onto the A41 through Newport and follow A41 again to Whitchurch.
In Whitchurch follow signs to Wrexham.
Once in Wrexham follow the signs for Mold for 4.5 miles until at the top of a long hill.
The 'Hollybush' public house is seen on the right.
Turn right and follow the road for 1.5 miles to the 'Crown' pub traffic lights.
Turn left signed Hope.
After 1.5 miles you will see us on the right hand side.




 

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

To be eligible to take part, horses must have zero BD points for the HI2 tests and less than 124 BD points for the Novice tests. Downgrading of horses is allowed if they are no longer registered with BD. Riders who have competed in a CDI or CDIO under FEI rules in the previous five years are not eligible to compete.

                                        

All competitors must have a valid vaccination certificate in accordance with the Riding Club Rules, please bring vaccination certificate and hat to the secretary to be checked, you will then receive your number.


Team Managers must complete a declaration sheet, which is to be handed in 30 mins before the start of the competition. 


Withdrawals and Substitutions are allowed up to 5.30pm on Wednesday February 24th. Each Club will be required to send helpers, one per team max, see helpers form attached, you will be notified the week before of their duty.


Horse Boxes and trailers must not be mucked out on the yard.


Please remember that all organisers, stewards and helpers are volunteers and have given their time freely, anyone using foul or abusive language or behaviour will be severely reprimanded and future entries from their Club may be refused.

RULES

The Competition will be run in accordance with Riding Club Rules.


The Judges decision is final.


Protests or complaints will be handled by the Official Steward.  A complaint must be lodged by a representative of the Riding Club in question with a £20 deposit.  Any protest or complaint must be made no longer than 30 minutes after the occurrence that

gave rise to the protest or complaint, or 30 minutes after the results are published.  If the objection is overruled then the deposit will be forfeited.

 

Save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor the British Horse Society, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, vehicles, their contents or accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by the negligence breach or in any way whatsoever.

HEALTH AND SAFETY


The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of all present.  For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instruction of the organisers and the Official Steward.


All competitors must wear a correctly adjusted riding hat conforming to a minimum standard EN1384 or PAS015 which provides the greater protection.  All hats prefixed SEI/ASTM are acceptable.
